In 1955, the foundations of ITU Textile and Apparel Quality Control And Research Laboratory had been started and after the establishment of department in 1983,the laboratory started to work in full capacity. In 1993, the laboratory started serving in Gümüşsuyu campus on 1200 square meter of indoor space. With the foundation of Textile Technologies and Design Faculty in 2005, the active area of the laboratory was increased to 2500 square meter with the addition of students and research laboratories. In 2013, with a substantial second infrastructural restoration, the quality control laboratory completely renovated and started serving with a new concept and regulations in June 2013. In May 2015, our Textile and Apparel Quality Control and Research Laboratory was accredited by TURKAK. 

For approximately 30 years, with the harmony of the expertise and academic knowledge, the experienced and educated employees conducts tests and analyzes onto the textile and apparel products. The results of the analyzes are reported rapidly and accurately in a very quality manner.

In our laboratories, the application from several industries, state institutions and organizations are evaluated and required test are applied within national and international standards. In addition, R&D studies are also performed.
