Apparel Retail and Fashion Management Non-Thesis Master's Program

• Mission

  Our mission is to educate professionals;
  who will be able to use the most recent (or contemporary)  and international managerial issues as well as his/her professional knowledge and skills on multidisciplinary practices in the direction of the needs and the progress of human-being, society and the sector, who will be able to keep himself/ herself updated in accordance with the advances in apparel retail and fashion sector, who are conscious of social, ethical and economic impacts and responsibilities in the field, and who have leadership and managerial qualifications in order to contribute for a sustainable worldwide competition of the Turkish Apparel Retail and Fashion Sector which is at the growing and developing stage.

   

• Vision

  To continue to be a leading and prestigious graduate program which gives education at the international level within the fields of apparel retail, fashion management and related areas, and whose graduates have leadership and managerial qualifications in line with the national needs and are preferred and respected by the sector.

• Program Educational Objectives (PEOS)

  In pursuit of the Mission, the following educational objectives of  Program reflect the needs of our constituencies and have been reviewed and validated by our constituents. In this context;

  1. Graduates will demonstrate proficiency in merchandising, buying, marketing, and quality principles and methods along with technical knowledge which is essential to contemporary context of the apparel retail and fashion manegement.
  2. Graduates will be preferred for the management and leadership positions in the apparel retail and fashion sector.
  3. Graduates will have an extensive point of view regarding the influences of the apparel retailfashion management practices on social, cultural, environmental and ethical values. 
  4. Graduates will understand the nature of the apparel retail and fashion sector about the global operations, structures and practices of the business relations and the customer behaviors.
  5. Graduates will be aware of the importance of their future professional development through continuing education and research.

• Attainments

  1. Developing and intensifying the technical and managerial knowledge in the apparel and fashion industry via focusing on production and retail management the related concepts of global merchandising, supply chain, sales and marketing, based upon the competency in the undergraduate level. 

  1. Grasping the interdisciplinary interactions in order to develop comprehensive understanding and sectoral executive knowledge required by the apparel retail and fashion industry; using the theoretical knowledge in practical application and developing new solutions
  2. Determination of complex problems arising in the apparel retail and fashion management, developing strategic approaches and creating solutions by taking responsibility and using the related knowledge.
  3. Executing a practical study requiring expertise in conducting the apparel retail and fashion management activities; determining the requirements and solving the problems independently or taking part in or fulfilling the leader role in a  team work  
  4. Assessing the executive knowledge and skills in apparel retail and fashion management with a critical view and directing the self learning process
  5. Presenting the current executive developments and original applications in the field of apparel retail and fashion management supporting with qualitative and quantitative data in a systematic manner in convenient with the language capabilities in visual, oral or written forms by using communication and information technologies; showing the expertise 
  6. Developing strategies, policies and application plans considering the environmental and ethical values, foreseeing the global, social, economical and cultural influences of the applications in apparel retail and fashion management; assessing the results in the frame of quality objectives and restrictions.
